Welcome to Sax Family Travels!
Picture this.
You get a text from a friend you haven’t talked to in a while.
She asks- “How’ve things been?” or “What’s new?” or “What’s been happening?”
You don’t even know how to answer. You’ve been blindly getting through each day. One day after another, you feel like you’re on some messed up version of groundhog day.
You stop and think, “When’s the last time we did something fun together? “When’s the last time we felt joy and laughed?” Heck, “when’s the last time we were all in the same building together?”
Like most families nowadays, we have so much going on; there is rarely a day that we can all be together.
Between school, work and extra-curricular activities, most nights, we’re lucky to have supper together, and even then, it’s rushed.
I get so tired of the craziness that is our life now. Everyone is so busy rushing and running here and there. It hurts our relationships.
How can you have a healthy relationship and connection with someone when you hardly see one another?
We try so hard to make it work during our everyday lives. And sometimes it works! But all too often schedules conflict and we are once again all heading in different directions.
A point came where we said enough is enough. Our life sometimes seems like we are just going through the motions and “getting through it.”
We wanted a life that was full of joy and laughter and to make the most out of the time we have with one another while they are young.
So a few years ago we decided that family vacations are a necessity for the health of our family and our marriage.
Travelling together gives us a chance to recharge and reconnect, which in turn helps to strengthen (and sometimes repair) our relationships.
Then the trick is to bring that home with you and keep it up!
About Us
We hope that our little blog can help families like yours plan memorable and adventurous vacations. We hope in some small (or large) way you’ll become inspired by our travel and decides to take time to have adventures and reconnect with your loved ones.
We spend most of our time in a small town in Alberta, Canada. We love our home; it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world. Within a short drive from our home, we can experience many of the wonders mother nature has to offer. Whether its the majestic rocky mountains, the quiet prairies or the mysterious badlands, there is always something new to discover right in our backyard.
But we also love to experience as much as possible.
So that means heading to new and exciting destinations. We are pretty much up for anything, whether it is the rush of a big city like New York or the historic sites of Europe or relaxing on the beach in a tropical paradise like Hawaii. We are up for it all.
In the end, making memories and reconnecting is our ultimate goal.
I hope by reading some of our stories, you too will feel inspired to travel with your family.
